Since someone is bound to ask us where this dance or that one came from, or what the music was, here&#8217;s all the info up front (&#8217;cause I&#8217;ll be darned if I can remember it all on the fly!)<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Childgrove<\/em><\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nTraditional English tune and country dance, longways for as many as will. Adapted for one couple (w\/skipping omitted for hot weather).<br \/>\nMusic performed by <em>Immigrant\u2019s Daughter<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Sellenger\u2019s Round<\/em><\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nTraditional English tune and circle dance. Adapted for one couple.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nMusic performed by <em>Estampie<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Parson\u2019s Farewell<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nTraditional English tune and country dance for four dancers. Adapted for one couple and fairy wands.<br \/>\nMusic performed by Henry Martin<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nineteenth-Century Waltz Medley\u00a0<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nDanced to an excerpt from \u201cPeri Waltzes\u201d by Gary Freeman. Music performed by <em>Eastman Wind Ensemble<\/em>.<br \/>\nSlow French waltz (1815)<br \/>\nSauteuse, aka \u201cHop Waltz\u201d (1815)<br \/>\nPolka Mazurka (1860s)<br \/>\nGitana, aka \u201cLa Carlowitzka\u201d (1860s)<br \/>\nVarsouvienne (1860s)<br \/>\nPolka Mazurka (1860s)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schottische<\/strong> <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\nTraditional European (German?) country dance later adapted for mid-nineteenth century ballrooms and still popular in the American folk dance community.<br \/>\nDanced to \u201cSchottische Fran Havero\u201d (traditional\/Swedish). Music performed by <em>Lothlorien<\/em> (piece has been shortened)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abbots Bromley<\/strong><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n\u201cAbbots Bromley Horn Dance\u201d is a traditional English tune and dance. Here it\u2019s being used as a single line processional for as many as want to join.<br \/>\nMusic performed by Jennifer Pratt-Walter and Valerie Blessley.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skye Boat Waltz<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cSkye Boat Song\u201d is a traditional Scottish air (it&#8217;s also the theme from &#8220;Outlander&#8221;). Here it\u2019s being used as the tune for a simple participatory circle waltz.<br \/>\nMusic performed by Julie Murphey (tempo has been sped up).<br \/>\nWaltz sequence:<br \/>\nCircle left w\/waltz step &#8211; 8 measures<br \/>\nCircle right w\/waltz step &#8211; 8<br \/>\nWaltz into center &#8211; 4, turn single w\/waltz step back to place &#8211; 4, REPEAT<br \/>\nRepeat entire sequence as needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Greenwood Kalamatianos<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cDans En Dro\u201d is a traditional tune from the Brittany region of France.
